In connection with publications in some mass media, the Press Service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat informs about the following.
The procedure of salary payment to people’s deputies of Ukraine follows the active legislation –article 33 of the Law “On the Status of People’s Deputies of Ukraine” and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 30.06.2005 No. 510 “On salaries of leading officials of state bodies”.
Under these documents, on 09.09.2005 the respective Decree of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine No. 1145 was signed (upon agreement with the Committee on Rules of Parliamentary Procedure, Ethics and Support to Work of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine).
Therefore, the point at issue is that there are no innovations in paying people’s deputies, but their prolongation at the beginning of every new convocation under the Decree of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine signed in September 2005.
We also inform that upon the applications of the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine I. H. Kalyetnik, the Head of the Committee on Budget Ye. B. Hiellier, and some other people’s deputies, a permission to make some refurbishments in their offices at their own cost was granted.
All these refurbishments are carried out in conformance with the current legislation.
It is necessary to point out that no repair works to enlarge the offices at the cost of other rooms, which were claimed about by some mass media, are performed.
We inform that the state budget for 2013 does not stipulate any expenses for repairing the premises of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
