The Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on State Building and Local Self-Government recommends that the Parliament should adopt a number of resolutions on early elections of 72 village, township and city mayors in connection with early termination of their powers

The head of the Committee Davyd Zhvaniya informed about the reason for early termination of powers of the heads of the villages, townships and cities.

 

By results of discussion, the Committee resolved to recommend that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine should appoint early elections of certain village, township and city heads for Sunday, March 17, 2013, and pass the resolutions on appointment of early elections in the following regions: the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Vinnytsia,  Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Lviv, Mykolayiv, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Kherson, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv regions.

 

The respective draft resolutions were registered under No.No. 1201 - 1201-71
