Combining customs and tax functions in one ministry should add positive aspects into collection of taxes and levies into the state budget. The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ihor Kalyetnik added also that both “Customs and Tax Administrations have been preparing to this for almost two years.”
In his opinion, the new institution will be able to establish strict control after the operation of economic agents from the moment they import the goods and to the moment these goods are sold on the domestic market.
“This way, there will be no gaps between the customs and tax service, which were used by imprudent taxpayers. If someone managed to evade from paying taxes in the process of importing goods, now he or she will inevitably get into the focus of attention while selling the goods of unknown origin,” explains Ihor Kalyetnik.
In addition, according to him, the efficiency of work of the new body will depend on correct approach to human resources management. The administrative staff will reduce, the functions of separate subdivisions will be combined, and the main thing here is not to lose professional approach.
I. Kalyetnik is convinced that the leaders of the new ministry can turn this body into an efficient and just mechanism of filling the state budget.
