The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn will suggest the Preparatory Deputy Group develop the draft resolution presupposing comprehensive approach to settling the issue of personal voting of each deputy.

Answering journalists’ questions in Saint Petersburg, V.Lytvyn said that he will suggest supplementing the text of the draft resolution regarding mandatory personal voting, suggested by two representatives from opposition, with two more clauses: on mandatory participation of a deputy in voting – “for”, “against” or “restraint” in order to fix his presence in the session hall, and on prohibition of entry of foreign objects into the session hall, particularly, “the objects that have no connection with parliamentary activity”. “To adopt a comprehensive decision that would exclude the possibility of any disgraceful events humiliating Ukrainian people and Ukraine as a state,” he said.

Commenting on personal voting by each people’s deputy, V.Lytvyn noted that “we need to properly adhere to the Main law of Ukraine” that includes the respective provision. The Chairman of the Parliament reminded also of clarification by the Constitutional Court on this matter.

“It reminds me of the idea that we suggest creating a group of choral singing in the opera house,” he noted. “I believe that we need to stop reproaching each other and show by our own example how to comply with this constitutional requirement”.
