The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation granted a hearing to information of the Counting Chamber on parallel / coordinated audit of preparedness to catastrophes conducted by the Counting Chamber of Ukraine within the framework of working group INOSTAI on accountability and audit of assistance connected with catastrophes

By results of discussion, its participants adopted the decision to recommend that the Cabinet of Ministers should stipulate in the law “On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2013” sufficient financing for establishment and functioning of the system of prevention and liquidation of emergencies and informing population concerning civil defense.

 

Members of the Committee believe that the Ministry of Emergencies should pay attention to ineffective administration of budget funds stipulated for establishment and implementation of the system of emergency assistance to the population at the single phone number and inform the Committee on readiness of central executive bodies to take actions in case of emergencies by December 15, 2012.
