The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn confirms his stand regarding the necessity to adopt Budget for 2013 by current composition of the Parliament.

He said this answering journalists’ questions on Monday, after the meeting of the Conciliatory Council of faction leaders and committee chairs. “Current Verkhovna Rada should demonstrate fidelity in regard to adoption of the budget for 2013,” V.Lytvyn noted. “We all realize it,” he stressed. The Chairman has discussed this issue with the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

V.Lytvyn is convinced that adoption of the State Budget by the current constituency of the Verkhovna Rada is necessary since the prospect of adoption of this document by the majority of the newly elected Verkhovna Rada in the nearest future is “the illusion”. The Chairman of the Parliament stressed that “both the country and people cannot wait until the deputies reach common stands in the session hall”. He noted thereat that the existing “high intensity of emotions” will only complicate adoption of any decisions in the Verkhovna Rada.
