“I believe that there will be no “clearance” of party lists. It is quite difficult to accomplish it, especially in the part of majoritarian candidates who have faced such challenges and successfully passed the test,” V.Lytvyn said, answering journalists’ questions after the meeting of the Conciliatory Council. He also added “I believe that emotions will come down”.
The Chairman of the Parliament deems such initiatives to be “questionable experiments that should be avoided”. “Moreover, the question of financing next elections arises. Who would take the decision to allocate immense costs to hold it?” he said noting that it is necessary to analyze possible situation inside the country, in case the decision on new elections is adopted.
At the same time, V.Lytvyn deems it quite evident that either current composition of the Parliament or the new one will come back to the issue of creating Interim Inquiry Commission that would investigate facts of violation during the election campaign. “It would be preferable if the issue was addressed comprehensively, including in the part of effectiveness of the law on election of the people’s deputies of Ukraine,” he noted.
“I hope that the conclusions will be made, the results released and the Rules of the Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine amended to create the working group responsible for preparation of the foundation meeting of the newly elected Parliament,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine summed.
