The Committee on Finance and Banking, Taxation and Customs Policy recommends that the Parliament should adopt in the second reading and in entirety the bill to amend clause 4, section XXI of the "Final and Transitional Provisions"

It was mentioned that the bill aims at:


exempting goods imported on the custom?s territory of Ukraine within the initiative of the G-8 Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction, and realized at the cost of international technical assistance, and provided according to the current international agreements, from import duty taxation;

 

refining certain provisions of the Customs Code of Ukraine pertaining to the customs control procedures as well as customs processing of goods crossing the customs border of Ukraine.


The Committee members believe that implementation of bill provisions will allow for resolving the issue of preferential taxation connected with technical cooperation with certain countries of the G-8.

 

It was also stressed that amending certain provisions of the Customs Code will contribute to simplification of customs control procedures at the border.
