The team of people’s deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine participated in the International parliamentary games

The Committee on Family Matters, Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism informed that International parliamentary elections arecomprehensive sports competitions for parliamentary deputies from different countries. For the first time such event was initiated in 2009 by the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and from that time on it takes place annually.    

 

According to Committee members, this year national teams from Russia, Ukraine,Latvia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Lithuania, competing in five kinds of sport, particularly, in mini-football, table tennis, tennis, chess and badminton, participated in the International parliamentary games.

 

Ukrainian delegation was represented by the following people’s deputies: Anatoliy Horbatiuk, Serhiy Husarov, Oleksandr Zats, Yuriy Kolotsey, Yevhen Konstantynov, Pavlo Kostenko, Pavlo Klymets, Andriy Kozhemyakin, Serhiy Moshak, Elbrus Tadeyev, Serhiy Pachesiuk, and Valeriy Pysarenko. The Ukrainian team was represented in all kinds of competitions, but for badminton, and got first prize in tennis (Andriy Kozhemyakin). 

 

Yuriy Kolotsey, the team leader of Ukrainian parliamentarians, stressed that “Games, as an unofficial way of communicating between parliamentarians from different countries, establish friendly atmosphere in the deputy environment. They develop mutual understanding and strengthen relations between the participants of competition and countries they represent”.
