The Committee on Social Policy and Labor recommends that the Verkhovna Rada should recommit the bill to amend several legislative acts of Ukraine (regarding principles of formation and procedure of determination of the set of foods and non-foods and services, and calculation and approval of the subsistence line)

The bill (Reg. No. 11004), submitted by people’s deputy A. Pavlovskyi, suggests: decreasing the period of determination for sets of foods, non-foods and services from five to one year; calculating the subsistence line per one person, as well as separately for those who belong to main social and demographic groups of population with consideration of consumer price index, determined in the main prognostic macroindicators of economic and social development of Ukraine, and approving it annually by the Verkhovna Rada in the law on the State Budget for a respective year; publishing the subsistence line in official editions of general distribution.
The respective amendments shall be made to the Law “On Subsistence Line”.
In addition, the same amendments should me made to article 6 of the Law “On the State Social Standards and State Social Guarantees”.
Members of the Committee did not deny the necessity to calculate the subsistence line with consideration of actual prices to main social goods, but expressed some reservations to the bill.
