To the teachers of Ukraine
Accept my sincere and heartfelt greetings on the occasion of the Teacher’s Day that testifies deep respect and unlimited appreciation to the enlighteners and mentors of our generations. Despite this is a fixed and occupational holiday it always remains with us and relates to each and everyone.
Under rapid change of circumstances, non-stop flow of time, problems, tasks, professional and civic duty, the historical mission of a Teacher has always been and will always remain extremely high, humanist and future-oriented. It first of all concerns the most essential component of education – to raise educated and well-bred individuals, corresponding their epoch. Education lays foundation of both their own self-fulfillment and optimal usefulness and return to society and the state.
Teachers and the school in its best forms and manifestations provide the young generation not only with knowledge according to school curriculum, but also with hard lessons of life, humanity, morality that brings them together with family and ancestral home. It is necessary that these good and badly needed lessons were all-round companions of our young fellow citizens, helping to overcome the influences and consequences of the fall of public morality and vacuum of spiritual values.
At the same time, this joint holiday reminds us of joint responsibility for the condition and results of operation of the system of national education. Selflessness, everyday work and tirelessness of people and communities of the educational process require universal understanding and support. We should care about who, how and what will take from the land of knowledge to independent life journey.
I wish such cooperation cohesiveness and effectiveness, and the participants, our distinguished teachers, – energy, inspiration and commitment for the high and noble purposes.
I wish you happiness, health and success in sunny classes!
Volodymyr LYTVYN
