On Wednesday, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada during the live interview on Rada TV channel expressed conviction that the law protecting children's rights to secure information space (Reg.No.8711 “To amend several legislative acts (concerning the protection of children's rights to secure information space) will be adopted with consideration of remarks from the Central Scientific Experts Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariat.
V.Lytvyn speaks out against the society “striking at things that lead to perversion and amoralism”. “I am a traditional and conservative man, a man of hardened beliefs, - he noted, - and I believe that such glamorous things should be left to the small group of people that are bound up in it”.
V.Lytvyn stressed that the law should be adopted taking into consideration remarks and recommendations of the Secretariat, which, according to him, “acts detachedly, from the merely scientific point of view and focuses on international norms and obligations of Ukraine”. “I believe the law will be adopted with consideration of their remarks,” he stressed.
At the same time, answering the question whether Ukrainian traditions will correspond to international experience, the Chairman of the Parliament said that “international norms should correlate with morals, principles, and people’s beliefs”. He believes that each Party should take this into account.
V.Lytvyn stressed that Ukraine also has the right to live according its traditions and beliefs which, according to him, do not contradict general principles of civilization.
