The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law “To amend several legislative acts of Ukraine regarding state regulation in the sphere of utility services”

The law refers "recycling and landfill disposal of household waste" to the sphere of natural monopolies and adjacent markets.
The law excludes determination of fixed state tariffs in the sphere of waste recycling and landfill disposal from the powers of the Cabinet of Ministers. Under the law, activity in this area shall be governed by the National Commission on Regulation of Utility Services Market.
The respective amendments shall be made to the laws "On State Regulation of Utility Services", "On Waste", "On Natural Monopolies", "On Prices and Price Formation", "On Local Self-Government in Ukraine", "On Housing and Utility Services", as well as to the Code of Administrative Violations of Ukraine.
The respective bill was registered under No. 10499.
