The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a number of resolutions on appointment of early local elections

Under the resolutions, the elections of city and village heads in Ternopil, Sumy, Zakarpattia, Kharkiv, Mykolayiv , Rivne, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Cherkasy, Volyn, Kherson, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, and Khmlnytsk regions, and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea have been appointed for December 16, 2012.
