The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn plans to suggest people?s deputies to withdraw the bill on libel during the plenary meeting on October 2. He said this answering journalist? questions on Monday.

"To put an end to all the talks and to put the matter to rest and prevent peoples deputies from showing such poor judgment in the future I suggest withdrawing consideration of this bill at the beginning of the meeting," he said being astonished by the fact that the abovementioned bill "was in the Parliament from the beginning of July and must have been waiting for the election campaign".

Answering the qualifying question, V.Lytvyn said that he will vote for withdrawing this bill from consideration. If the suggestion of the Head of the Parliament is upheld the bill would be removed from the register of documents that "live" in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. "It is a feature of a strong deputy and a strong man to be able to avow his own mistake," he noted.
