Ukraine badly needs dialogue and practical work. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn stressed this during the procedure of presenting state awards and distinctions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Tuesday.

The Head of the Parliament notes that Ukraine is undergoing "a peculiar period now". According to him, the future parliamentary elections will determine further course of development of the country and its place in the world. In this context, V. Lytvyn expressed the opinion that it is necessary to avoid "competing in pessimism" and "aggravating the confrontation" and stressed that Ukraine and its citizens "need dialogue and normal life now more than ever."

"People are concerned about completely different problems than those that are of interest to the politicians," he added. "The energy of all participants of the election process should be directed at solving practical problems."
