The committee on European Integration recognized a number of bills regarding amendment of the Law "On Postal Services" as non-contradicting to the laws of the European Union

In particular, the bill to amend the Law "On Postal Services" (re improvement of technical conditions of post office boxes in Ukraine) (Reg. No. 10586), which is aimed at solving one of the main problems in the sphere of Ukrainian postal services, as non-contradictory to European legislation.

 

By the subject of legal regulation the bill belongs to the sphere of transport and communications and is governed in the legislation of the European Union by the Council Resolution on the development of Community postal services (СОМ/93/247); the Directive 97/67/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on common rules for the development of the internal market of Community postal services and the improvement of quality of service; and the Commission Decision of August 10, 2010 establishing the European Regulators Group for Postal Services.

 

Members of the Committee came to the conclusion that the bill does not contradict the legislation of the European Union as it corresponds to the general trends in rendering postal services and organizing public services.

 

The Committee recognized also the bill to amend the Law "On Postal Services" (re settling the problem of state supervision in the sphere of postal services) (Reg. No. 10665) as non-contradictory to the legislation of the European Union.

 

The Committee determined that by the subject of legal regulation the bill belongs to the sphere of transport and communications and is governed in the legislation of the European Union by the Council Resolution on the development of Community postal services (СОМ/93/247); the Directive 97/67/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on common rules for the development of the internal market of Community postal services and the improvement of quality of service; and the Commission Decision of August 10, 2010 establishing the European Regulators Group for Postal Services.

 

Members of the Committee concluded that the bill does not contradict the legislation of the European Union as it conforms to the general trend towards determination of clear order of conditions for postal services provision.
