International Conference "IV Kyiv International UN Model" has been opened in the Verkhovna Rada

Representatives of governmental bodies, diplomatic missions in Ukraine, international organizations, as well as prominent academics and talented youth participate in the event organized by the Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement, Public Organization "All-Ukrainian Youth Assembly", Student Parliament of the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University and UN Representation in Ukraine.

 

Addressing the participants of the conference, the Committee Chair Viktor Shvets noted that one of the priority trends in the operating of law enforcement bodies of Ukraine is the protection of constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens. In this sphere, law enforcement bodies cooperate with the UN and its institutions, as well as with the European Council, EU Organizations, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, international organizations and law enforcement bodies of other countries. The aim of such cooperation lies in introducing international standards and mechanisms in the sphere of human rights protection to the national legislation of Ukraine.

 

"The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement provides the participants of the conference with a unique possibility to reproduce the UN activities in real time mode," V.Shvets stressed.

 

Addressing the participants of the conference, the director of the UN Development Programme in Ukraine Ricarda Rieger noted that the possibility to participate in the UN modeling will allow Ukrainian youth better understand global prospects of society development and find joint solution to the problems of stable development, etc.

 

The secretary General of the "IV Kyiv International UN Model" Yuna Shaikhaliyeva said that each participant has the possibility to adopt a role of a political leader and suggest his/her ways of solving important issues.

 

The conference will continue its work on September 27 28 in the Committees at the T. Shevchenko National University.
