Greeting his fellow citizens with the jubilee date he stressed that the fate of the Zhytomyr region is "complicated, victorious, informative and extraordinary". It deserves to be seriously and, at the same time, orderly analyzed. It should be free from any speculation. V.Lytvyn said that Zhytomyr region was founded at a time of unrest in 1937. It is an original land with its own economic and cultural face, its own peculiarities and trends of development. Features of both Polissya and Podillya were combined here. This land is rich in natural resources, fertile black soil, ancient forests, amazing landscapes and vegetation.
In the historic context, according to V.Lytvyn, Zhytomyr region was a geopolitical borderland. First enemy bombs fell here. "This is a unique and important merit of this region which, to a large extent, played the role of the country?s patrol. It managed to hold the ground and was not demolished by the rapid flow of history," V.Lytvyn said.
The territory of Zhytomyr region
makes the fifth part of the territory of Ukraine. It is inhabited by almost 90
nationalities of people. The most precious treasure of the region are its people "over the course of history a type of really
strong people was brought up," V.Lytvyn said. He noted that it is the historic
merit of the region that managed to produce unique experience of humanist way
of life. V.Lytvyn concluded that "Zytomyr region
places stake on its own skilled workers, on those who was brought up in this
environment and is aware not only of the problems, but also of the spirit,
moral and psychological atmosphere of the region and the way of thinking".
V.Lytvyn states that he cannot imagine himself without his native land "without the wish to continuously and devotedly work for its people". He stressed that "this is both his civil and patriotic duty".
V.Lytvyn wished his fellow citizens that this jubilee and historic date gave them strength, indefatigability and purposefulness in their far-reaching work. He presented the best representatives of the Zhytomyr region with distinctions of the Verkhovna Rada
