ovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn participated in the celebration of September 1 at a number of schools in Zhytomyr region on Saturday.
Congratulating the students and teaching staff, V. Lytvyn noted that 425 thousand of first-graders are going to school this year. These children “embody the future and will take over the responsibility for the country.”  V. Lytvyn is convinced that “every first-grader is a talent, a personality.”  “I am sure that teachers will help these children to discover their talents and provide them with everything necessary in life,” he said.
The Head of the Parliament called teaching staff “the enthusiasts who do disseminate the wise, the good, and the eternal.” “Teaching profession is really timeless,” he added.
V. Lytvyn addressed the students asking them to plan their lives following the highest standards, and to aim for the great future.  “If you want to become a humane, you will become one,” he said.
According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, it is planned to increase expenses for education in the budget for the next year. “The state understands that education will determine Ukraine’s future,” he stressed.
V. Lytvyn wished everyone “good results and health”, “calm hearts and grateful students” to the teachers, and “understanding of the role, aim and place of a teacher” to students.
Among others, V. Lytvyn visited the celebration of the Day of Knowledge in the schools of Novohrad-Volynskyi town, and Novohrad-Volynkyi and Chervonoarmiysk districts.
