The bill (Reg.No.5137) suggests supplementing article 37 of the Law "On Physical Culture and Sports" regarding mandatory insurance of competitors. The aim of the bill is to establish secure conditions for the competitors in Ukraine that can be reached with the help of life and health insurance.

The Committee members upheld the suggestion according to which "life and health insurance of competitors during sports competitions is provided by organizers or sportsmen apart from highly qualified sportsmen who are subject to insurance according to the law at the expense of state budget".

According to the bill, "sportsmen who have no life and health insurance are excluded from competitions. In case of admission, the organizers will bare responsibility according to the legislation. The results of sportsmen whose life and health were not insured will not be taken into account".
