Adam Martyniuk will be elected according to the party list in the constituency
The Cabinet of the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has an interesting history. "Sydir Artemovych Kovpak, whose 125th birth anniversary we have recently celebrated, has fruitfully worked in this cabinet from 1947 to 1969. He planted those apple and pear trees that bear fruit up till now," said the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Adam Martyniuk in socio-analytic interview for the 5th TV channel in the program "V Kabinetakh" ("In Offices").
Answering the journalist?s question, why there is no President?s portrait in the cabinet, A.Martyniuk explained that the Parliament is an independent branch of power. "The President is related to us but he is not the head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," said the politician.
Parliamentary campaign was discussed during the shooting of the program in the cabinet of the First Deputy Chairman.
Commenting on the results of the social research regarding ratings of political forces that are going to be in the Parliament A.Martyniuk noted: "According to the results of the social research, communists expect to get more that 10 per cent. We expect to get at least 15 per cent by party lists. In connection with the fact that we have turned back to the mixed electoral system, the most respected of our colleagues will go to the election districts".
Apart from this, the politician expressed doubts regarding high ratings of Natalia Korolevska?s political force. Though, he said, "everything might change till the end of the electoral campaign".
Talking about the joint opposition, A.Martyniuk noted that: "The joint opposition probably has what it has. I do not believe that they will find additional political forces that will join them or that they will find any PR campaign that could significantly add them points. Their task is not to lose what they have already gained at the moment". Answering the question regarding the pessimistic attitude to the opposition movement the politician said that "pessimistic attitude concerns not the opposition movement but people who are in this movement".
Analyzing rating figures of the Party of Regions A.Martyniuk said that "the sociologists? estimations correspond to the reality and that the Party of Regions has all the chances to improve their rates if they continue moving in the same direction". But at the same time, due to high responsibility for the situation in the country the rating of the party may also fall".
Commenting on the electoral process, which according to the first Vice-Speaker has already started, he stressed that he knows what to expect in this election campaign. The Deputy Chairman said that despite of the fact that in a number of regions the party which he represents has stable electorate "the competition will be".
The politician informed that he will "go on the communist roll but by electoral district". "The political party has the right to field candidates for elections by lists of political party or by lists on electoral districts; who wants to stand in election personally has the right to it," said A.Martyniuk.
The first Vice-Speaker stressed that "No one sends the deputies from the space or from other states. These are people whom electorate votes for. Whom you chose, those you have in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine".
