The Committee on Environmental Policy, Use of Natural Resources and Chornobyl Aftermath Mitigation considers that the bill to amend the Law “On Mandatory State Pension Insurance” regarding limitation of the retirement age for citizens living in ecologically dangerous regions needs to be revised

   The bill (Reg.No.10605) suggests establishing maximum age of retirement for citizens living in ecologically dangerous regions with high concentration of industrial production: for men – after 58 if working experience is not less then 15 years; for women – after 55 if working experience is not less then 15 years.

 

It was mentioned that the Law “On Environmental Protection” and other specialized legislative acts regulating legal relations in the sphere of environmental protection in Ukraine do not include the term “ecologically dangerous region”.

 

In the course of discussion, people’s deputies agreed that the bill needs to be revised. The respective decision was sent to the Committee on Matters of Pensioners, Veterans and Persons with Disabilities.
