The bill (Reg.No.10413) submitted by the people?s deputies A.Yatseniuk and L. Orobets? suggests a new type of paid leave for men connected with a birth of a child. It should be 7 calendar days long starting from the day of labor, the possibility to join this new leave with an annual one irrespective of the duration of work in the current year, should be provided.

The authors proved the necessity to adopt the bill by the drastic decline in birth rates, which is observed in Ukraine again.

Upholding the necessity to overcome the demographic crisis in the state the Committee members, expressed several comments to the bill.

They noted that the bill combined the notions of "temporary disability assistance" and "assistance for child care", while the last one is not connected with temporary disability. Taking into account the ideology of the bill, in its nature it is a type of family assistance and can be settled by the Law "On State Assistance to Families with Children".

The Committee members believe that some other provisions of the bill need clarifications.
