On Wednesday, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn met delegation of the National Congress of Brazil headed by the Chairman of the Department of Science and Technologies, Communication and Informatics Bruno Cavalcanti de Araújo.
The head of the Ukrainian parliament stressed that Ukraine highly appreciates strengthening of cooperation with Brazil, since these relations are strategic. V. Lytvyn declared that the partnership shall be filled with new content. He also stressed that forthcoming visit of the Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to Brazil shall give a new impetus to the relations.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada called for developing cooperation
between the legislative bodies of our states. V. Lytvyn stated that both the
Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the National Congress of Brazil have the groups
on interparliamentary cooperation. He called for strengthening cooperation
between the parliamentary committees and factions.
"I am deeply impressed that representatives of different political parties in your delegation represent your state unanimously as a one team," he stressed.
The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament emphasized that implementation of common projects in space sphere "Cyclone-4- Alcantara" proves the strategic character of the partnership.
The Chairman of the Department of Science and Technologies stated that cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil in the sphere of high-end technologies, namely, implementation of space projects is essential. Mr Bruno Cavalcanti de Araújo is convinced that common projects with Ukraine are bound to succeed.
The Parties hope that partnership in the space sphere will facilitate active cooperation in other branches, especially in view of a large great contractual basis.
V. Lytvyn informed that in September 2011, the National Congress of
Brazil ratified the agreement on partial cancellation of visas for the
Ukrainian citizens. He also highly appreciates the state of contractual basis
in the sphere of agrarian industry which supports joint enterprises.
The head of the Ukrainian parliament thanked the Brazilian colleagues for supporting the Ukrainian community, and reminded of the historic event in the development of bilateral relations - celebration of the 120th anniversary of the beginning of the Ukrainian emigration to Brazil.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that Ukraine and Brazil have great capacities for the development of the cooperation in the sphere of culture and education, namely, in the organization of students´ and researchers´ exchange.
Brazilian parliamentarians invited Volodymyr Lytvyn to visit their state at his convenience.
