Volodymyr Lytvyn: It is necessary to liquidate Huge Gap in the Pension Provision

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in presentation of investment capacity of Zhytomyr region "Investments in Zhytomyr Region."

In the course of the event, Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament stated that such presentations are essential for all the regions of Ukraine. "Ukraine shall be developed for people. We do not need mere talks about talented people in our state, instead we shall confirm our capacity to organize and build civilized life."

V. Lytvyn deems it necessary "to renovate healthy economics and give opportunity to each personality to fulfill one's potential, since the country where more than 20% of citizens live beyond the poverty line can not be regarded as the democratic one." The Chairman stated that according to the official statistics, correlation between the richest and the poorest people in Ukraine comprises one to six, "and according to non-official one in ten times more."

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada believes that pension reform in our state is one of the steps on the way to redress an injustice. V. Lytvyn deems unfair the fact that People´s Deputies receive pension at the rate nearly UAH 16 thousand, though average pension of the citizens comprises UAH 1200. "To receive better pension one should work more efficiently and during the longer period of time, though we should liquidate huge gap in the pension provisions", the Head of the Parliament emphasized.

Presentation of investment capacity of Zhytomyr regions is the first of such events in the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine and it is aimed at the foreign audience and to investigate the experience of foreign investors in the possible sphere of investment cooperation.

In the meeting tool part representatives of the Administration of the President of Ukraine, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Ministry on Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, other bodies of state authorities, international originations, representatives of the diplomatic corps and journalists.
