The Committee on the Matters of Pensioners, Veterans and Persons with Disabilities supports the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Military Duty and Military Service"

The bill (Reg. No. 8790), submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, specifies the period of duration under a new contract for the military servicemen in relation to their category and length of service.

 

As the adopted law "On Judiciary and the Status of Judges" liquidates military courts, the bill amends the law "On Military Duty and Military Service", and invalidates the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada Presidium "On Military Ranks of Judges of the Military Collegium of the Supreme Court of Ukraine" of February 21, 1994 No. 3966-XII.

 

The committee members upheld the idea of the bill, and recommended providing an appropriate level of material support of military servicemen, as it is the essential factor to preserve workforce capacity of the Armed Forces.
