On Tuesday, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, met with Mikuláš Krajkovič, Head of the Ukraine-Slovakia Interparliamentary Friendship Group at the National Council of the Slovak Republic. Ukrainian Party was represented by People´s Deputy of Ukraine Sviatoslav Oliynyk.

 

During the meeting, M. Tomenko stressed, "Ukraine and Slovakia have great opportunities for a full-fledged and mutually profitable cooperation, which is conditioned by numerous objective factors such as deep historical and cultural connections." M. Krajkovič supports European integration aims of Ukraine and is ready to facilitate visa regime liberalization.

 

Special attention was paid to the discussion of transfrontier cooperation and development of tourism capacities. The parties expressed their interest in further strengthening of interparliamentary liaison and permanent cooperation of the Ukrainian and Slovak parliamentarians.
