Grand assembly dedicated to the 20th anniversary of proclamation of independence of Ukraine will be held on September 6. Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn made this statement on Monday during the Conciliative Council.

 

On the same day starts the ninth session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the sixth convocation.

 

According to V. Lytvyn, the grand assembly will start from the introduction of guests, later the State Flag will be brought in, as it was on September 24, 1991 after the state independence had been proclaimed.

 

"The President of Ukraine will deliver a speech at the grand assembly. One of the People´s Deputies "who took part in adopting the far-reaching decision", and the Head of the Parliament will also deliver a speech", V. Lytvyn informed.

 

V. Lytvyn announced that the agenda of the next session consists of 766 issues. "If we consider alternative bills, the number grows to 800 bills, codes, and resolutions", he added.

 

According to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, during the plenary meetings on September 20-23, the program of socio-economic development of Ukraine for 2012 will be scrutinized, and the State Budget for the next year will be introduced. The Head of the Parliament believes that scrutiny of these two documents shall be preceded by the report of the government on the socio-economic situation in the state, "expectable challenges and responses to them to be represented in the draft budget for 2012." "This way the budget for the next year will be clearer for all of us", V. Lytvyn declared.
