On Monday, August 22, Head of the Organizing Committee of the campaign "Seven Wonders of Ukraine: Castles, Fortresses, Palaces" Mykola Tomenko attended the ceremony of announcement and awarding the finalists of the campaign "Seven Wonders of Ukraine: Castles, Fortresses, Palaces."
Further to the regional presentations and polls, 100 experts on tourism, architecture, history and culture selected 21 finalists of the campaign seven best castles, seven fortresses, and seven palaces. M.Tomenko congratulated directors of these historical-cultural objects, wished them success in further struggle for the highest title, and conferred commemorative diplomas of the campaign finalists.
Speaking about the principle of finalists´ selection, M.Tomenko stated that experts considered historical importance of the objects, their architectural value, cultural tradition, and tourist attractiveness.
The deputy chairman stated, "State policy, tourism infrastructure, and PR campaign of these objects can turn them into trademarks of Ukraine."
