Discussing the schedule of the parliament for the next session, Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated that the opposition would like to listen to the government´s plan for the next fiscal year.

M. Tomenko reminded that under the applicable legislation, the Standing Orders of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and clause 30 of the Law on Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Parliament has the right to listen to the report on implementation of the national programs before scrutinizing the draft budget for the next year. "For Ukrainian society and Parliament it would be quite interesting to listen to the report of the Prime Minister on the achievements of the Government during this budget year. I am convinced that only after that the budget for the next year shall be adopted", the politician added.

M. Tomenko announced that during his trips to the regions he saw that many regions have problems with local budgets, as they have no opportunity to fund the all-Ukrainian programs. "Thus, we should listen to the government´s report on budget fulfillment, and assist local budgets, afterwards we will see what gaps shall be prevented in the next budget", he summed up.

Discussing the procedure of budget scrutiny in the Parliament, the Deputy Chairman also emphasized that all committees of the Verkhovna Rada are supposed to scrutinize the draft budget before the first reading in the parliament.
