The committee received reports from fourteen regional state administrations, the Council of Ministers of the Crimean Autonomous Republic, and Kyiv Municipal State Administration.
The People´s Deputies called for enhancing effective administration and use of public funds in said sphere. They discussed comprehensive amendments to the laws to determine the status of the nationwide penitentiary system, and regulation of the social security of its personnel.
Further to the discussion, the committee decided to address the Cabinet of Ministers with the following requests:
to strengthen coordination of the central and local executive authorities to settle the issues in the sphere of execution of sentence;
to commission the Ministry of Justice to draft the amendments to the Law "On the State Criminal-Executive Service of Ukraine" and to the Criminal-Executive Code of Ukraine to regulate the status of the nationwide penitentiary system;
working upon the draft Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, to consider the necessity to restrict the grounds for prevention measures in the form of detention.
