Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: Establishment of the Inter-Parliamentary Panel on Cooperation between Ukraine and Armenia will foster Bilateral Relations

 

Within the official visit of Ukrainian parliamentary delegation to Armenia, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn met Mr Hovik Abrahamyan, Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia.

 

Mr Hovik Abrahamyan, Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, suggested setting up an inter-parliamentary panel on cooperation between Ukraine and Armenia.

 

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn supported this idea, declaring that "it will foster relations between the National Assembly of Armenia and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine." He stressed, "Conditions have been arranged to make inter-parliamentary and inter-state cooperation more dynamic."

 

The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament invited his Armenian counterpart to make an official visit to Ukraine.

 

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Lytvyn and Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan, accompanied by the members of the Ukrainian official delegation, laid flowers to the monument to the victims of the terrorist act at the Armenian Parliament on October 27, 1999.

 

V.M.Lytvyn together with the delegation members laid flowers to the Armenian Genocide memorial, and visited the Armenian Genocide Museum-institute. The Head of the Parliament signed the distinguished visitors' book.
