Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of
Ukraine, attended the Ceremony of Whinyard Handling
to the Graduates of Sevastopol P. S. Nahimov Naval
Academy
Within the celebration of the Navy Day of Ukraine, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in the ceremony of whinyard handling to the graduates of Sevastopol P. S. Nahimov Naval Academy.
V. Lytvyn addressed the graduates, "You should always remember that you are the elite of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the intellect of the nation, the bearers of the traditions, dignity and valour." He called on the graduates "to remember the fellowship of your predecessors who sacrificed their lives to protect the Motherland and to give lives to all of us."
The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament wished the graduates of the Academy to have a successful service, perfect knowledge and competence. "You should always remember your teachers and be grateful to them", V. Lytvyn stated.
After the ceremony,
the naval personnel of the academy marched in review before the Chairman of the
Verkhovna Rada, the Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the
Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
V. Lytvyn together with other participants of the event took part in the ceremony of laying flowers to the Memorial to the Heroic Defenders of the Hero-City Sevastopol in 1941-1942.
