The Verkhovna Rada scrutinized 14 bills submitted by the committee. The following laws were adopted in entirety: "On Amendments to Clause 3 of the Law of Ukraine "On Restructuring Arrears in Payment for the Services on the Maintenance of Houses and Premises, and for the Public Utility Services as of December 1, 2006" regarding Assignment of Subsidies"; "On Amendments to several Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding Streamlining of the Procedure of Payment for the Public Utility Services."
The Law "On Urban Development Regulation" was adopted in the new version.
The following bills were adopted in the first reading: on amendments to clause 6 of the Housing Code of the Ukrainian SSR (re calculation of the living and total areas of the housing facility); on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine regarding associations of co-owners of apartment buildings; on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine (re strengthening the legal regulation of support of housing rights of the residents of hostels).
On May 18, 2011, the committee held an offsite extended session to discuss adjustment of the draft Housing Code of Ukraine to the second reading, and use of state and local budget funds for regional development.
During the eighth session, committee members and secretarial staff scrutinized 2204 letters and appeals from the citizens.
The committee is to scrutinize 34 bills during the ninth session, including the draft Housing Code of Ukraine, the bills on amendments to several laws of Ukraine regarding support of social housing construction; on amendments to the Law "On Social Housing Fund" (re homeless citizens); on amendments to several legislative acts of Ukraine (re regulation of relations in the sphere of heat supply); on amendments to clause 1 of the Law "On Support of Realization of Housing Rights of the Residents of Hostels"; on amendments to the Law "On Associations of Co-Owners of Apartment Buildings" regarding priority entitlement to the indefinite tenancy of land plots; on amendments to several Laws of Ukraine regarding regulation of investments in the sphere of housing and public utility services; on amendments to several laws of Ukraine regarding establishment of tariffs for public utility services.
The committee is to issue its opinions and proposals concerning 26 bills that belong to the subject-matter of other committees.
