The bill (Reg. No.8459) regulates the authorities of the government in the sphere of state supervision over the quality of foodstuffs.
Moreover, the document separates supervisory functions and eliminates their duplication between the state executive power bodies, namely, the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Service, the State Veterinary Service and the State Technical Regulation Service.
The bill harmonizes definitions of standard and technical regulations in respective laws. Moreover, the document specifies the requirements for marking the foodstuffs, and providing information about the content of GMO.
