The Committee on Science and Education recommends the Parliament to adopt the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Protection of Rights for Inventions and Useful Models" (re Secret Inventions) in the Second Reading and in its Entirety

Under the bill, during the preliminary examination, the application which does not contain the proposal of the applicant to treat the invention (useful model) as a state secret is scrutinized on the availability of information which may be treated as a state secret under the Code of Information forming State Secret, compiled and published in the official editions by the Security Service of Ukraine on the basis of decisions of the state experts on classified information and the Law "On State Secret." 

 

Adjusting the bill for the second reading, the People´s Deputies received 13 proposals, most of which were taken into consideration. The Committee rejected the proposal to publish the information on the issue of patent for secret invention online. According to the Committee members, "information about secret invention can not be posted online, since it is an additional opportunity to obtain secret data."
