The committee shall adjust the bill on amendments to the Law "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" (re regulation of broadcasting of programs with the paid interactive competitions) (Reg. No. 4510) to the repeated second reading. The bill regulates distribution of programs with interactive competitions (games, quizzes), the conditions of which envisage paid acquisition of the status of a member. The bill prohibits broadcasting of the programs with interactive competitions (games, quizzes), the conditions of which envisage paid acquisition of the status of a member, unless they are broadcast at the channels with restricted access.
The committee shall also adjust the bill on amendments to several legislative acts regarding regulation of relations in the sphere of television and telecommunications (Reg. No. 6527) to the second reading. The bill specifies the definition of the term "a general program service." Under the bill, it means an obligatory provision of the possibility for the subscribers to watch the suite of programs among the programs of the television and radio broadcasting organizations that perform terrestrial and satellite broadcasting in the territory of location of a respective multi-channel television network under the licenses issued by the National Council of Ukraine for Television and Radio Broadcasting.
The committee shall adjust the bill on amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" (regarding harmonization of broadcasting concept with the European Convention on Transfrontier Television) for the second reading. The bill abolishes the provision of the Law "On Television and Radio Broadcasting" that establishes a fifty-per-cent quota for musical works of Ukrainian origin in the broadcast. The amendments are based on the principles of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television ratified by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on December 17, 2008.
