V.Lytvyn highly appreciated contribution of the Ambassador to the development of bilateral relations.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called for extending inter-state relations, especially their parliamentary component.  According to V.Lytvyn, Ukrainian parliament is ready to boost inter-parliamentary dialogue between committees, factions and groups. Along these lines, he suggested setting up a group on inter-parliamentary liaison with Ukraine at the Finnish parliament. 

 

V.Lytvyn also stated that Ukrainian parliament members are willing to participate in various parliamentary forums within the scope of cooperation between the Scandinavian and Baltic states. Thus, they are interested in attending annual session of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference as invited guests.

 

Опис : C:\Documents and Settings\annet\Desktop\2.jpgThe Ambassador stressed that relations between Ukraine and Finland were developing in the spirit of trust and partnership. He declared that Finland supports European integration goals of Ukraine.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called for completing negotiations on the agreement on association and a free trade zone by the end of this year. V.Lytvyn supposes that it ‘disciplines´ Ukrainian politicians and allows focusing on the European course of development instead of ‘devising alternative scenarios.´
