Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that quality of the law on pension reform is more important than the date of its adoption. He made the foregoing statement in the program "Pro Holovne" on the First National Television Channel, asked whether the current parliamentary session would be prolonged, if adoption of the law on pension reform was put on the agenda.
"I would respond in the following way: it is necessary to consider the quality of the law to be adopted instead of shortening the deadline to adopt the act by the end of the session," V.Lytvyn stated. "As the Head of the Parliament, I do not set this task."
According to V.Lytvyn, if the specialized committee of the Verkhovna Rada adjusts the bill by 3-5 July, it will be brought forward.
"When an appropriate bill is drafted, it will be scrutinized," the Head of the Ukrainian Parliament stated. He warned against precipitating the date of its adoption.
Asked about the resolutions to be passed by the end of the session, V.Lytvyn stated that the Parliament shall amend the Tax Code. He addressed the specialized parliamentary committee with a request to summarize all bills on amendments to the Tax Code and finalize systemic amendments, considering the proposals from the deputies and the government. According to V.Lytvyn, it is a key issue on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 5-8 July.
The Head of the Parliament also deems necessary to scrutinize the bill on the land register if it is finalized in due time, so that the land matters could be regulated.
