Speaking about the launched land reform in the interview to Chernivtsi regional television and radio broadcasting company, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko stated that to understand the situation with land in Ukraine, it is necessary to implement the Law on State Land Register, and test market land management tools at least in one region.
Among the most high-profile and controversial reforms launched by the authorities, M.Tomenko singled out the land reform which will legalize the land market, lifting the moratorium on the sale of land.
The Deputy Chairman warned that "nobody fully understands the condition of the land market, as the law on the land register has only been adopted, whereas the inventory of agricultural land has not been made." M.Tomenko recommends implementing the law on the land register to understand the land use before legalizing the land market.
