Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: Celebration of the Navy Day in Ukraine confirms Respect for the People of Honour, Courage and Brotherhood - for the People who protect Ukraine, protect and enrich its Traditions, contributing to the Glory and Pride of Ukraine

 

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in the celebration of the Navy Day of Ukraine.

 

Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Volodymyr Yatsuba, Head of the Sevastopol City State Administration, Mykhailo Yezhel, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Mykola Lytvyn, Head of the State Border Service, Hryhorii Pedchenko, Commander-In-Chief of Armed Forces of Ukraine, Admiral Viktor Maksymov, Commander of Naval Armed Forces of Ukraine  visited the line of battle of Navy-Armed Forces of Ukraine and State Border Service of Ukraine on inner harbor of Sevastopol Bay and saw the defense equipment of the Navy Armed Forces of Ukraine.

 

Then the participants of the celebration climbed aboard of Hetman Sahaidachny frigate, speaking before the navy men.

 

Greeting the military men on their occupational holiday the Navy Day of Ukraine, V. Lytvyn named it an all-Ukrainian feast. "This holiday exemplifies respect for the people of valour and brotherhood for the defenders of Ukraine who preserve traditions and glorify the Motherland. Today, I am especially glad to stress that you respect friendship and support close military cooperation with the navy men of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation," he declared. The Head of the Parliament is convinced that it supports peace, safety and stability in the whole world and the Black Sea region in particular.

 

V. Lytvyn wished success, peace, family happiness, well-being and prosperity to the navy men. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada stated, "Today, Ukraine as a state is concentrated on itself, on the decoration of domestic life." "Thus, we have the opportunity to provide the armed forces of Ukraine with the required items. And it will be done. All Honour to the Navy Men! All honour to Ukraine!", V. Lytvyn proclaimed.

 

The Head of the Parliament presented diplomas and valuable gifts on the occasion of the Navy Day of Ukraine.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada will also take part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Memorial to the Heroes-Defenders of Sevastopol Hero-City.
