The Committee on Justice recommends the Parliament to adopt the Bill on Amendments to several Legislative Acts of Ukraine regarding Arrest of Sea-Going Ships

The bill (Reg. No. 8553) amends the legislative acts of Ukraine due to accession of Ukraine to the International Convention Relating to the Arrest of Sea-Going Ships.  

 

The bill amends clause 16 of the Code of Economic Procedure and Clause 114 of the Code of Civil Procedure which determine the exclusive jurisdiction. Under the bill, the cases on disputes due to maritime claim are considered by court at the location of the maritime port of Ukraine, where the ship related to the maritime claim is staying.
