Offsite seminar "On the Interaction between Local Authorities and Local Self-Government Bodies in the Regional Socio-Economic and Cultural Development" with the participation of Heads of Regional Councils and Sevastopol City Council, and Deputy Mayor-Secretary of Kyiv City Council was held in Chernihiv Regional Council on June 7, 2011.

 

Volodymyr Yalovyi, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate, delivered a keynote address at the plenary session.

 

The following speakers took the floor: Anatolii Melnyk, Head of Chernihiv Regional Council, with the report "On the Main Areas of Work of Chernihiv Regional Council"; Volodymyr Khomenko, Head of the Regional State Administration, with the report "Topical Issues of the Regional Socio-Economic Development"; Volodymyr Sydorenko, Head of the Municipal Property Department of Chernihiv Regional Council, with the report "Experience of Municipal Enterprises of the Regional Council."  

 

During the plenary session the participants of the seminar exchanged their work experience, and discussed the local self-government reform, and the role of local officials in the formation of an effective local self-government system. Every participant was provided with the pack of reference materials.

 

The educational event in Chernihiv region is an integral part of the subject schedule of the Consultative Local Self-Government Council, and training of the local self-government officials and deputies of local councils in 2011 ratified by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine V.M.Lytvyn.
