Volodymyr Lytvyn: Ukrainian Candidate runs for PABSEC Secretary General
At the press conference following the Extraordinary Session of the Bureau of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Parliamentary Assembly, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, informed that candidates from four out of twelve countries of the PABSEC are running for PABSEC Secretary General.
The Head of the Parliament informed that elections of PABSEC Secretary General will be held at the Assembly session in the end of June the beginning of July. Ukraine, Turkey, Greece and Moldova have nominated their candidates.
V.Lytvyn stated that participants of the Extraordinary Session of the PABSEC Bureau shared their views on the compromise resolution. "I hope that we will pass a right decision. I would like the Ukrainian candidate to be supported," he stated. "This candidate is Kyrylo Tretiak, incumbent Head of the Department of Inter-Parliamentary Liaison of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate who meets all the requirements of this international organization."
The Head of the Parliament informed that a working group was set up during the Extraordinary Session to draft the standing orders of the PABSEC, so that every country could plan its representation in the PABSEC General Secretariat.
