For the first quarter of 2011, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has received 25 373 proposals, appeals and complaints from the citizens, which is by 1010 appeals more compared to the respective period of the last year.
According to the Citizens Appeal Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate, 641 persons have addressed the leaders of the parliament for the past three months, 349 of whom addressed Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Parliamentary committees have processed 5,3 thousand proposals, appeals and complaints from the citizens. Factions and deputy groups in the Verkhovna Rada have received 1,4 thousand appeals. Structural units of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Secretariate have scrutinized nearly 18,6 thousand proposals, appeals and complaints from the citizens.
Out of the total number of appeals received from January to March 2011, 25,9% were related to the financial, tax and customs policy, 25,4% - to the issues of law order and law enforcement, realization of civil rights and liberties, 22,4% - to the social security, 4,6% - to the activity of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, President of Ukraine and the Cabinet of Ministers, 2,9% - to the housing policy, 2,7% - to the public utility services, 2,5% - to the agrarian policy and land relations.
The following issues also remain topical: housing policy, labour and wages, healthcare, local self-government, agrarian policy and land relations, public utilities, education, science, scientific-technical and innovational activity, and intellectual property.
2551 visitors have attended personal receptions in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Out of the total number of visitors, 564 persons addressed the parliamentary committees, 142 deputy factions.
According to the secretariats of the deputy factions, 74,5 thousand voters have addressed the People´s Deputies and their assistant consultants for the first quarter of 2011. 27,6 thousand written appeals have been scrutinized, 8,5 thousand personal receptions and 5,3 thousand meetings with the voters were held.
