Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, calls for increasing governmental support of museums and museum affairs. He made the foregoing statement, visiting the Memorial Complex "National Museum of History of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" on Wednesday.
V.Lytvyn called for arranging such conditions that witnesses, exhibits, and museum employees could create the environment, where every person could learn its past and project its future.
The Head of the Parliament supposes that it is impossible to tackle museum affairs on a bare enthusiasm. The issue of its financial support calls for attention of the authorities. "It is necessary to consider the humanitarian factor to settle the economic issues," the Head of the Parliament stated. "Mere pragmatism will lead us nowhere."
