Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, called on the parliament members to adopt a responsible attitude towards adoption of the law on pension reform in the final reading.

Summing up discussion of three bills on the pension reform, V.Lytvyn stated that neither of the bills is perfect. However, the Head of the Parliament stressed that despite political preferences, People´s Deputies should treat the pension reform responsibly.

"Are you satisfied with these three bills? I think not. We can continue political exercise and blame one another, but responsibility rests with all of us," V.Lytvyn stated, adding that deputies should "pass serious resolutions and assume grave responsibility."

V.Lytvyn called for taking stock of the laws on social sector, as respective laws envisage social benefits for UAH 160 billion, which are yet to be realized.

According to the Head of the Parliament, People´s Deputies should realize the goal of the pension reform, as "we are trying to adjust to the situation with the laws instead of changing the situation."

V.Lytvyn suggested that the colleagues should adopt a responsible attitude to the situation, choose one of the submitted bills, adjust it in the committee, and adopt the high-quality law.
