Mykola Tomenko: Dismissal of Chernivsti Mayor is a Good Lesson in Relations between Authorities and City Mayors who are not Party of Regions Representatives
Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is convinced that a vote of nonconfidence to the Chernivsti mayor is a demonstration lesson in relations between authorities and city mayors who do not uphold the Party of Regions.
He made this statement in the interview to UNIAN news agency.
"The above-mentioned decision may be viewed as a good lesson in relations between the new authorities and city mayor who have not been running in an election of the list of the Party of Regions," mentioned the Deputy Chairman of the Parliament. According to M. Tomenko, the situation presupposes that all city mayors shall conform to the instructions of the party leaders in the city and regional councils. He also reminded that under the effective legislation, if the decision of Chernivtsi councils is not litigated, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine subject committee shall draft a resolution on early mayoral elections and bring it before the Parliament.
