The primary goal of the bill (Reg. No.0207) is to implement the procedures to ratify the Second Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters. Member States of the Council of Europe adopted the Second additional protocol to the European Convention on mutual assistance in criminal matters in Strasbourg on 8 November 2001. The member States of the Council of Europe have decided to improve on and supplement in certain aspects the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters done at Strasbourg on 20 April 1959, as well as the Additional Protocol thereto, done at Strasbourg on 17 March 1978.
It was declared that pursuant to the explanatory note, implementation of the Second Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters does not require extra State Budget expenses.
The People´s Deputies informed that provision on implementation of the Second Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters requires implementation of the amendment to the effective legislation of Ukraine.
